Look At You is a multimedia installation that allows people to raise awareness of concealed cameras because we are constantly under close watch by public surveillance or private persons´ cameras whether we notice it or not, which invades privacy. For this project, a participant is recorded without notification and projected on the mirror while isolating in a confined space only with the small mirror. The participant can have a chance to think about hidden cameras around them, as well as they can find new aspects of themselves they might not recognize before.

Man in the Mirror is a multimedia installation that I collaborated with Megan Sperry. MIM uses the portraits of its participants to address ideas of multiculturalism and diversity while paying tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, and his famous song by the same title, “Man in the Mirror”. By manipulating the user images and projecting them on a wall for the participants to see, the installation is a fun way to address issues of diversity and ethnic identity.

First Hunger, then Obesity is an informative website with flash animation about the increasing obesity rate in developing countries. The project goal is to give basic information about the increasing obesity rate even in the developing countries known for poverty and hunger. By using flash animation and appealing information design, it attracts interest to the serious social problem. Also, by not using overwhelming texts, but visualized information design, it will attract users’ interest and make the information easy to understand. This consists of three elements; causes, current status, and suggested solutions.
Obesity is a flash interactive piece focusing on the social issue of obesity. This project deals with four different aspects of obesity. First, the project identifies obesity rates in the United States over the last 25 years. Second, it addresses excessive calories of food as a main cause of obesity. Third, the project includes a slideshow of overweight people and finally, the complications from obesity. The purpose of this project was to make people aware of the importance of obesity because it is a serious social issue. By approaching this topic not in an overly serious way, it helps make important information more accessible to people who would usually be reluctant.
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly is a flash game inspired by the movie with the same title. In the movie, the main character has a condition called locked-in syndrome and the only way he is able to communicate with others is by blinking his left eye to answer yes or no and to choose letters and numbers, which form a sentence after many selections. I used this way of communication and visual aspect from the movie to create a number guessing game as a way of allowing the user to understand the characters experience in the film.
